I have been having some trouble with my bank. They have been giving me some grief over buying pennies by the box (I don't deposit back to them I take them someplace else) and today I asked them what's going on and they said they have to start charging me extra per box of pennies just like their merchant customers. I asked how much and they said they would have to call but I asked for a number so I could call them. I have been with this bank forever and it's close to my house so I don't want to make a fuss. So...do you guys/girls pay extra for a box of pennies and if so how much?
Thanks,
Sonny01
No and I will never pay. If you are a member asking for coins would be the same as asking for large or small bills when cashing a check.
naw will never pay a fee. We came to a comprimise. I don't pay a fee as long as I bring my sexy body inside the bank to lower their heating bill.

They cannot refuse to take any legal tender in circulation without risking their charter.
I thought you threw rolls at every teller.
One of my primary dump banks tried to charge me 10 cents a roll when I was dumping halves. I was giving them 2 or 4 boxes a week.
They said it was costing them to send them back. So in a since they were refusing. I even rolled them.

What they are trying to do is the exact same thing as charging you to give you 100 $1 dollar notes for a $100 dollar note or vice versa. They can do that to their high-volume merchant accounts but they have to have published guidelines as previously mentioned by kfs otherwise they are discriminating against you as Eminem always says.
