While waiting for my first MD to arrive, I have been reading up on the Doan gang and treasure/caches. I live in Montco, Pa in Skippack (supposedly one of the areas they robbed). Some articles I have read explain places relative such as Plumstead, the Tohickon, caves in that area, Gardenville, Carversville, Wrightstown, the Newtown treasury robbery, etc. My question is, are there areas of land that might be relevant that has not been searched due to private ownership and refusal? Or supposed landmarks or buildings that no longer exist that someone may have a lead? The majority of these areas are within a 45 minute drive, and I plan on getting out there after some more research, not just for this supposed cache, but the history here in general. And as I understand, with a county park, I need a permit. Can I get a permit if I reside in a different county?
