Doc’s Swingy Thing

I was wondering if anyone has used a Doc’s Swingy Thing or Aussie Rod or something similar and your thought on it? Why do you use it and when?

I Used Doc's "Swingy Thingy"
for many Years, and Liked it fine.

Down side Your still connected to your Detector when you lay it down to dig,
unless you un-connect. the strap runs around your lower chest like a Lie Detector strap looks to go across ones chest.
it is a bit restrictive & Felt a bit claustrophobic after using the "Detecting Buddy"

I Think it is now called "Detecting Pal"



the Detecting Buddy/Pal just slings over your shoulder And falls off when you lay your detector Down.

Your still Connected but Not Strapped in you can stand up and walk away for a smoke or walk away with a find to show & Tell, whatever
without unhooking . or having half the strap still on ya like a back strap.also gives ya more space between you and the detector
when your digging without unhooking every time.just slide your arm out the shoulder loop. and your free.

Both are worth the Money / imo.

it's all a matter of personal opinion & Price if it matters.

I'm not a Lefty But the Buddy/Pal will definitely work both ways.
Not sure if Swingy takes extra work to switch.
you may want to ask if necessary to know.

of course it may work like a Left handed Hammer or wrench

it may just require to wear it inside out

I’m looking at trying to find something that will help me with the CTX. Something different. I use the Proswing but it is too restrictive. Curious also about the Doc’s Swing Arm. I simply cannot use the CTX comfortable for more than 3 hours.

I've got the Detector pal and it's great for big coils.ie ATPRO and NEL 13" coil.I will say the shoulder peels away when sweating. Yes we sweat down here.
