Does anyone else look back & reminisce?

I do this sometimes when I'm bored... I have 145 threads I've started! Sometimes when I'm bored or having some adult beverages I like to look back & reminisce on my past finds & hunts. Some great, some good & some complete failures. When I look back it takes me back to the hunt & serves as a great record of events I may one day forget. That's my #1 reason for posting now is to have a record. I must say that I enjoy going back in time & remembering some of my favorite hunts.

I know I'll always remember my first gold! I'm in a gold drought now but looking back I know it's only a matter of time! I'm at 6 for the year & have been in a dead zone since June. Although one month I racked up 3! That's how it goes, persistence pay off!

Except for those pieces returned to their owner, I have every piece of gold And silver I have ever found. I know I will eventually turn it in to be melted down, but for now, I love digging it all out mid winter, and remembering with each piece the day I found it. I also have a album of find pictures on my computer that I have sorted by year.

i also like to go back occasionally to look at my posts and laugh at what a newbie I was six years ago.

But you are right...its really cool to see the early ones....where every little find was amazing ...I like reading my first ones because i can remember all the excitement from that time

I hate remembering my first "gold" ring. Marked 10K but after a few years the "gold" started peeling off. I suppose I'd been even more upset if I'd bought the ring.

Yeah , this site helps keep the dream alive in different ways for all of us , I can't get out much these days , but I can sort of live the dream
through the other members here - until I can .

Absolutely. I also watch my videos on youtube now and then especially when I am in a gold/silver/ring drought.

I was just looking through some of my old posts yesterday. It's funny to see what a rookie I was back then and the excitement I had just finding something silly. My best years were from 2007-2009. Great times.
