Does anyone know what this is?

[rust18]

I found this in Marshfield, Missouri at my uncles old house. It is approx. 2 5/8in dia with a bolt on back about 1 1/8 long x 1/4in dia.
It is either a deer head or stag head , which ever you thank. It appears to be brass or bronze and maybe made in a mold.

Cabinet or drawer pull, imo.

Left-facing elk head. Perhaps B.P.O.E. (Benevolent Protective Order of Elks) related.
More like an emblem that might have been mounted to the front of a cars radiator or bumper.

I contacted BPOE and this is what they said:

Well, it certainly looks like an elk head. Unfortunately, there have been so many pieces of jewelry, even buttons, made over our 140+ years of existence, we really have no idea if it actually references the BPO Elks. Most, although no all, Elk memorabilia shows at least a Lodge number, or the letters BPOE.

Sorry we couldn't be of help.

Sincerely,
Office of the Grand Secretary

So if unless there is a number or BPOE on it.....most likely not them. Have you found out anything else about it yet?
