looks like quartz to me

Is very nice, but have no idea as to size.

Ok thank you!

Larger than a baseball

Is an awesome specimen!!

It could be quartz, but could also be salt crystals. Regardless, that would take a special place on my shelf....if it were mine, of course. :tongue3:

Looks like the inside of a geode. They are very different from each other. What does the other side look like?

It look's to have a hard brown crust on the outside. ???

Reminds me of Rocks Sold & Found in E, TN , W,NC & a few in N,GA, I'm no Rock Hound Soooooo, I do believe "Geode" is the right Term.

A nice find indeed.

Hmm...a geode with a thin outer shell. Interesting!!

Here is the back side of it

All geodes have thin outer shells.
Ok, let me re-phrase that - I've seen lots of geodes that have the thin shell, but also have some solid rock with the geode center. With this one, it seems there's a thin shell and the crystals.

It's a quartz geode with soil staining inside. Nice looking and collectile...

Nice pretty specimen. Definitely a keeper.
