This is a souvenir novelty item that I remember getting as a kid while traveling. Rest stops and tourist sites would have a machine that you would deposit a quarter and then dial the letters you wanted to imprint. You had to pull the lever for each letter and then advance the wheel. The finished disks where about 2.5 to 3 inches wide.
