A bald cardinal probably has mitesor a red breasted robin with mites.

Hmm...it would seem that it's not so unusual for a juvenile male cardinal to look like this. Here's a link:

Isn't necessarily mites. ...Maybe just a fan of Mr. T!!

It is a cardinal. I thought maybe it was just molting. Since there were a couple others around, maybe it was a juvenile as KCM suggested too?
