Lately, I've noticed something quite odd about Little Miss S E! And, it may only be me or mine???

After using her for an hour or two, she begins acting up, becoming erratic in sounds. After performing numerous NOISE REDUCTIONS, which never appeared to help I think I finally figured it out. When my baby acts up, I turn her off. But not before saving any changes I've made utilizing USER ONE. After waiting a few seconds. I push the POWER ON button holding it down for a few seconds, letting the machine reset itself to SMARTFIND MODE. I then reload my saved program and begin hunting. All is well in Southern Colorado at least, for an hour or two longer. :)

I noticed this in my area if I have sensitivity set to auto and I go under a power line. It almost goes too strong, and then gets unstable and can't snap out of it. Adjusting to manual solved the problem. Now, I run manual the full time.

Those can be symptoms of a bad battery pack.

yes i agree. My se has never acted that way by my explorer 2 did the same thing and as soon as i got a new battery pack it quit.
Oh and mine was the akaline battery pack.

Clean the contacts on the battery pack. Mine was doing similar stuff. I spoke to Sandra from Minelab and it seems to have cleared up a lot.

love my se ;D so i'm looking at what everyone is saying and remembering i hope , mine did act up behind the house lastnight but when i looked up and seen the electric lines i knew that was it , i did switch to manual sens and set it lower and it acted alot better ;)
