All Treasure Hunting
ive been detecting for over 13 years and i store my finds in a room and i forgot about them.Iitems such as old cap guns ,old pocket knives old tootsie toy cars and skeleton keys and locks and so on.Stuff with no value to know one else but means alot to me.Time from time i go into to this room and i say i know i found much more then this then i sit down and relise my son been taking my stuff and i know he thinks there valuable and when he dont get no money they end up back in the woods again. This makes my blood boil, has any wives ever throw out your stuff saying its just junk?:mad::mad:.:icon_scratch:

Well, I would at lest give them a warning and let them know they too can be buried. That should end the thefts. If not, I guess you would have to make an example out of one of them, to show you mean business :laughing7:

Wife used to, i learned my lesson, now everything goes in a 2400 pound safe and not so junky junk in the garage. HH

some time in cleaning the house every thing get piled on top of each other
when moved
not to happy about that...

Liftloop, my advice is solid for all applications :icon_thumright: :laughing7:

I've always said, "you know, I can bury things much quicker than it takes to retrieve them, hint, hint" :tongue3:

I see
so your not going too bury the persons or person guilty
got Yea

Know where it is- heck yeah- she gripes about it on a daily basis. dirty junk on the table, coins on the bar, detectors on the couch, bucket with wires and axe heads in the sink... blah blah blah.
I'm just glad she never goes to the barn. there is a hundred times more junk out there...

Worst similar case- My son recently took 8-10 dollars to a zoo field trip and graciously bought cokes and chips for himself and his friends. Problem was- those dollars were some of my best and key date Morgans... Only reason I didn't kill him then was that I knew I'd get a couple hundred dollars in yard work labor between now and college...
PEACE

If you have close family members stealing from you AND you are posting about it on a public forum rather than doing something to correct the situation... I think you have bigger problems going on.

the problem solved, hes not alowed over no more! and who checks on the items on a daily basis,i sometimes go through my bucket of stuff and i cant beleive some of the good old toys i found!even my large cents and other coins.i put away and forget i even found them,i just look forward to the next find, because its all junk to every one else except you! dosent mean someone should take it!

oldmudfoot wants a place to vent about his problem and we're fine with that. I spect he is addressing the problem and I don't want to know how, cause if things went south I don't want to wind up testifying in front of the grand jury. I do sympathize with you, cause I had that happen to me. Old does not always mean valuable, but the problem got stopped real quick when I figured out what was goin on. I keep all my finds in fruit jars, and once the wife needed laundry quarters. Being from Mexico, she didn't know much about American coinage so 15 silver quarters went to the laundromat. No key dates just silver value, and she knows about American silver coins now, and I hope the laundry guy had a banner day when he took the coins out of the machines.

Well, I can't comment on what do about kids stealing one's hard earned loot, but I do have some advice about spouses throwing stuff out.
Explain to them that they're throwing away your retirement funds or the kid's inheritance.
And when the expected reply "What this junk?" comes...... I have a good plan for that.
Tell them that they are mistaken and that this junk is worth thousands of dollars.
"Honey, I can prove it to you. Have a seat and I'll show you a few episodes of this great show called American Diggers........."

Question: What do you do to keep her awake during the show :dontknow: :laughing7:

My wife hunts with me and has never questioned the now several small boxes of finds. I plan on getting a oven and smelt some stuff soon enough.

Ya, I'm a real "Savage." :tongue3:
