Today I went to a park nearby, found this brass finial thing and a rusty scythe blade, which I realized too late had probably been used to attack the poison ivy I was KNEELING in. Grumpy, wiped off with wetnaps, drove to a house that used to be a Baptist church, founded in 1890s. Talked to an old man there for a long while and detected - tons of trash and I was getting frustrated, just finding lincoln pennies. I was in the sidewalk strip, two feet from my car about to leave, and got a signal - my first silver coin!!! Walking Libery half. I was so pumped!!! A few minutes later got the merc - I knew there had to be silver there. So happy! And I finally got distilled water so I'm soaking my keepers now. Thanks for looking ;D
HH,
Lara

I could use a cache of about 100 of those halfs...Anyone want to donate?

Beautiful find! Amazing!

Its very interesting, most people including me seem to find the best stuff right as were leaving. Just the other day i remmeber walking the last 10 feet to the car to leave, and i found a cache of 4 quarters. All clad but still pretty nice. Then again i did find the ring before that so who knows if theres a pattern or not! Good luck and HH!

hey guys, thanks for the posts. I definitely want to go back and hunt the yard - there was a lot of trash, the grass was long, and I was getting impatient but it's big enough for another house and I know from the old Sanborns there's never been a structure there, so wouldn't people have stood out there?

Nice half,

You just never know when your gonna hit on something.
