found on the site of the old county infirmary/poorhouse.
about 3in long,1inch from the bigger end there are 4 lines that go all the way around.
looks to be made of copper.

It's not 100%, but a good clue is evidence of where the tip was pinned to the scabbard. Original tips were pinned at the top; many repros are not. In fact, one major supplier of replica/replacement tips states, "Simply make sure the scabbard tip is clean and glue tip into place."
