Never heard of that before Casper. Pretty cool. If it's a ring made of an iron/nickel alloy meteorite, I think most of us would discriminate it out :laughing7:

Go Pat's :occasion14:

Apparently they're quite expensive! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1485298960.832955.webp

I hunt in all metal most of the time - but do you discrim. tungsten?

I found a ring that was part Zirconium and part meteorite. It read like iron.

I never found one or even heard of one. Learned something today.

I think...meteorites are worth more per gram than gold (say 14K). After checking Google.. I see that generally cheaper for iron kind but more expensive for stony kind. With especially rare ones worth considerably more than gold.

I'd assume if you dug it up you would think it's junk that fails the most basic of all jewelry tests, the magnet.

Make a long story short...Lost ring in 10' sectional couch. Garrett Detector only found zippers. Took the couch apart as far as possible with destroying it, shook it upside down, felt a small grove. Got a Canadian metal detector (a magnet on a stick), slid it into the grove, heard the clink, felt the weight and knew I had something from outer-space! Here is a picture of the ring - white gold surrounding a meteorite ring. Ring returned!
