Dot on a map

I have an old plat map from 1876 and there is a pronounced dot on some land I am interested in. All the buildings on the map are marked by squares and I can't find a legend for this plat map. Any idea what it might be? This is a farm plat by the way. So I was thinking it could be a pipe or possibly a well?

normally an above ground tank or water tower, sometimes a silo.have you been to NETR Online ? Historic Aerials to compar the feature on diffrent topo maps?

Ithey used dots to mark houses. You will see a square for a building. A cross for church
