Double Eagle Dilema

I have a friend who came across a Silver Double Eagle .999 Troy Ounce Fine Silver coin. I am by no means an expert, but I'm thinking this is probably a collectible coin of some sort as it does say "Made in USA" and does not have a date on it. I'm guessing it's not super old either. It is encased and looks to be in mint condition. The pics are not the greatest quality, but she was hoping to find out what she possibly has and what it could be worth. I told her about TreasureNet and how there were so many nice folks on here that know something on just about anything. I've tried researching it myself online, but have not found any coins that match up to this one. Any information would be helpful!

It is a generic one ounce silver round produced by a company rather than a Government and of recent manufacture. Silver is currently trading around $20.50, this silver round would probably carry a premium on a site such as ebay. Maybe $25-$30??
