I was metal detecting at the lake and saw the top of this Dr. Pepper bottle sticking out of the mud. It cleaned up real nice. I've tried to find out some info on it, like what years these were produced, but haven't found anything yet. It's a 6 oz. bottle; about 5 1/4" tall and about 1 3/4" diameter at the bottom.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Ed,

The soda guys call these NDNR's, for No Deposit, No Return. Yours is from 1962. They were made for a brief period of time.

Thanks Surf. Is there some "secret decoder ring" for figuring out what year a bottle is from? How did you know it was from 1962; were they only produced that one year?
