Nice pics. When I was little I was taught they were called snake doctors. I have no clue where that name came from. When I got in school I learned the rest of the world called them dragonflys.
 

They're beautiful and they eat mosquitoes, what more could you ask for? :icon_thumleft: We have big blue ones here with a wide wingspan, I always call them B-52s.

Now that's patient dragonfly. Not a bug to sit still for very long.
 

There were several of them and every few minutes they would take flight and chase each other around. Then they would return to their perch and save up for the next dogfight.
 

Just think if these great extinctions never took place. We'd have bugs the size of hawks flying around. That knock you of your motorbike, don't ya think?
