So I went back to my ye ole faithful site that has been producing awesome finds all season. Once again, this place rewards my hard work. I"ve been moving iron around at this site for a long time now. "rust-ling" up all this iron has stirred up some good finds. Today I scored an 1803 Draped Bust Large Cent, ANOTHER Marine button ( All 4 found in the same small area...coat must have laid there) and another common flat button ( some shiny gilt left to admire). This is a site that will continue to pull me back....I am very fortunate to have found this virgin cellar site. I can only dream that this is the large date small fraction variety 1803, but I doubt it. Thanks for lookin.

Nice Finds...

I found one of those 1803 pennys but I pretty much ruined it trying to clean it. I did the hydrogen peroxide about 20 times and when that didn't work I tried electrolosis. Opps--bad move. Nice find.

Nice hunt there Sniffy. Looks like you did a great clean-up on that Marines button. :icon_thumleft:

nice finds

draped busts are one of my specialties - hard to say from the pic - but PLEASE no peroxide and no electro on that one

it is in rough shape - decent rims - strong Liberty - can you see the fraction?

Nice stuff Sniffy. Looks like everything cleand up nicely. :icon_thumleft:

Yes, except the LC. The crud on the outside can be decieving, in the field I thought it was gonna be sharp....but it's not as purdy as I thought.

Any draped bust in any condition is wonderful to find.... nice gilt on those buttons too! :icon_thumright:
