That's what I kept worrying about hearing. I had the "gun" stuck half way into a pocket
all day. Found it early. :)

This park is REALLY being strange for me. It's almost like I have to throw away the VDI's. The ground balance is
around 94! Dry as a desert and nickels are ringing in at 60!! Dimes, sometimes as low as 70! Quarters, anywhere from 83 up!

Also, I'm getting a bit of iron audio on hits that I wouldn't expect! Strange!

Anyway:

Haven't seen this one before. :dontknow:

My oldest coin today. :dontknow:

Still, a right nice walk!

Thanks for peeking.

Maybe the VDI numbers are affected by the full moon? LOL

actually those numbers are what I get a lot of nickles on and a lot of my quarters, I seem to have a little variance here and there and most of the time, the nickles are a surprise as they are usually one of the pull tabs types. but I do believe that the dryness of the soil makes a difference on the readings

When in doubt, dig! Nice finds!

Thank you for sharing your hunt, and those pictures with us.

Now a days what makes you think you would of got a warning? :laughing7:

Cuz it was still in my pocket. Not like the pastry that a child ate into the shape of a gun. ;)

If they wanted an "excuse", I was waving around an electronic weapon above ground.

Thats right,I forgot. They were in fear for their lives.:BangHead:

Yep we all are locked, loaded, and fully "armed" when we pick up that detector! No one wants to get hit with radio waves! Lol!

Nice hunt! That is a different pressed cent, first one I've seen. Blingie seems to like it.

I often had the same thought when I was carting around my pistol probe pin pointer while detecting. Lol!

On the weird readings, my clad quarters are reading as screw caps at times here lately :icon_scratch:

Blingie is, (if nothing else), easy to please. LOL

I'm thinking I might need to clean out my coil's protector. Might have some garbage stuck in there. :)

Thanks!

BOO!! yep we are still Here Been Busy Reds A Little under the Weather this Week Bur still Kicking New post coming soon HH Chug

Hmmmm....I could have sworn I responded to this thread:icon_scratch:. I get a lot of weird ground balance numbers if the site is really noisy. Seems the mineralization affects the detector quite a bit in different ways. Pretty neat pressed penny.

Looking forward to it, hope Red feels better.

Anymore, ya need a scorecard to keep up with which threads we've seen. LOL

I'm thinking I have several factors playing into the numbers issues. Most are typical and understandable.
But, there is one thing that happens slowly and unless you remember to check, it can affect your hunting. These
coil protectors that we put on and pretty much never touch again, can indeed accumulate ground minerals. That can
and does throw off the vdi on these new machines. Not much, but add that to the normal issues and you have a pretty
strong influence.

The pressed penny? I believe there is a "Sesame Place" theme park where one can get these. :dontknow:
