I have been doing research on a major road reconstruction project in a town that dates back to the 1820's.The project is expected to go through the downtown area sometime soon. I decided that this would be a good weekend to check on the progress.
I was a little too early in my timing. They had the streets dug up, but they had already put in the gravel. They had not taken out the sidewalks yet though. :'(
All I could find was one Indianhead cent, but at least it was a better date. :)
Here is the pic of the only keeper coin I found.

Great find! That coin is in great shape. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Wow, what a beaut!

Nice Indian Head Cent. I would take one like that any day of the week.
Most of the Indians I find in OHio are green and very hard to read.

I bet you will be going back to that site. Best of Luck, and maybe take
a buddy along the next time, help cut the cost of gas and always better
with a friend close by.

That thing is in great shape - won't pay for the gas you used to go get it though. ;)

Don't be afraid to hunt those old dug up roads! If you look at old post cards, the roads were all dirt back in the day and often the sidewalks were the ones that were paved.

You forgot the photo of the welcome to town sign again .

Nice find. the trip was definitely worth it

I would say that the drive was worth it!

Nice find, how did you get it so clean? HH, Mike

Very nice coin.

Ha Ha.
Since I usually do scratch coins, I'll show you one that I did put a scratch on.

BK,

nice coin you pulled up.

Research produced it.

have a good un............

Nice coin bk.

I've struggled with the scratching thing myself.

Now that I'm working lumberjack camps mainly for iron relics it doesn't matter much if I put a nick into something.

That's sweet! Easily a $50 coin.

Beautiful coin BK!!!

;)
