Found this at an early cellar hole..

Looks like it clipped on at one time but someone punched a hole into it..

Just wondering if maybe it could be Civil War related

Wow Breezie that is sweet

If you look at your picture you can kind of see the tabs on top protruding a teeny bit..

I believe it is brass...It had some iron sitting on top of it...

Its in a peroxide bath right now..
