Re: Dug a Jug

Nice find. Sometimes those can still be worth a bunch even broken. I've seen jugs sell for over 10K broken.

Re: Dug a Jug

Super cool jug find! Hopefully we hear more info later about it. Keep us posted.
Congrats,
MM

Re: Dug a Jug

Thanks for the comments...I'm gonna look for the handle tomorrow... hey duffy, here you go....it's kind of rough though...and it's not really round, but it looks like it was made deformed..still would be nice if you could date it...thanks

Re: Dug a Jug

Looks like a moonshine jug. LOL That is a nice old jug no matter what was in it. Nice find.

Re: Dug a Jug

by the looks of that marble it appears to be an early peltier "miller machine" swirl..made in the late 20s- early 30s in ottawa ill. imho..the blow hole is a as made defect and does not effect the value much...and is a peltier trait...but its not mint maybe lower near mint....if its over 11/16 its really rare and the grey colors is also rare...all in all a truly rare example and most collectors would probably want it in their collection..maybe 40-60$ in that condiction...the miller macine is named after william miller the inventor of the machine and is a dating factor only...some used to be really pricey but the internet and ebay has really cut this type marbles values...nice find!!!!!

Good luck on finding the handle, & Happy hunting~

Re: Dug a Jug

Nice looking jug, copperhead. I did find this in regards to the name on the jug for a beer bottle - thought it might help:
Category Bottle
Pattern or Item Beer
Description Henry Bohn, Registered, Branford, Conn., 8-sided, Light Aqua, Blob Top, 9 In.
Website was kovels . com

Re: Dug a Jug

Even if you can't find the handle this is very easily restored by a professional. I had a crock restored that was a mess and you wouldn't believe how nice it came out. You can't tell where the restoration was done no matter how closely you look. I was really amazed.

Re: Dug a Jug

Cool jug coperhead!
It would be intresting to find out how old it is.

Keep safe...
