I was removing all signals around an old large tree to help unmask coins. The perfect pulltab signal at two inches turned out to be a 1901 V nickel! In the last three weeks at the same old house site I also dug three "good for 25 cents in trade" tokens, about twenty wheaties,a 1930s cracker jack George Washington aluminum coin,a 1940s aluminum good luck pocket piece, with the owners full name on it,one tootsie toy car,one junk earring, one 14k hoop earring, one skeleton key,one "Shirley President" suspender clasp(Made by the presidential suspender buckle co. in Shirley Mass- 1890s to 1940s ) I thought it was about Shirley Temple at first.. Only one silver coin so far ,a 1948 dime. Scads of clad, and enough scrap alum and copper to fill a gallon bucket each. It's also amazing to dig brass hose nozzles that have been in the ground for years, and work fine with a new gasket. I love working old house sites! Happy hunting.
