Dug a sterling silver thimble

I dug this sterling silver thimble at an old mill from the 1700's was reading 83 on my Teknetics G2 it was 8 inches down

I've found one thimble but it was cheap metal and crushed.

I know this is a really old thread to be bumping but I met this member today and was just checking out some of his posts. Yurns out he doesn't live too far from me.

After all, it's a small world right??

Brilliant find!! I was lucky enough to find a silver thimble once, engraved with the first name of the person who lived at that old stage stop in the 1860's. Finding such a personal item is what I enjoy most about this hobby. It's one of my favorite finds ever. Yours is amazing! Congrats! :-)
