First hunt this fall gets me a sterling medal!

Hit one of my permissions today for a few hours and was rewarded with a sterling silver medal that has a flint lock

on it, I'm hoping that its Civil War period. Also dug a 1850 Canadian bank token and a Jefferson nickel and a couple of wheats. Any one have any input on the Medal I'd appreciate any information on it and should I attempt to straighten it?

I'd be happy with those finds any day. According to Google, the silver medal is a Combat Infantymen Badge (C.I.B) and has an image of an M1 rifle. After looking at the rife it does appear to be a flintlock and not an M1? So definitely not Civil War era, however it's still cool as heck.

Nice badge, although it has lost its blue enamelling. Awarded from 1943 onwards, and the gun is a Springfield Model 1795 Musket. Full details of the award on this Wiki page:
