Dug an old coin box full of ...

... heartbreak! I thought lightning might have struck me twice when I dug this coin box at a former campground this weekend. However, unlike the coin purse I found earlier this year that was full of silver, this box was empty. Still, an interesting design and it looks sort of old. Although the box was empty, I managed to find this nice 1914 Barber dime along the dirt road. Also found a few wheat pennies and an old Yale and Towne lock. Thanks for checking out my post. Thanks. It rang up like a half, and my heart skipped a few beats when I saw it was a coin box. Such a sad feeling when I saw it was empty; still a cool find though, I think.

Thanks. I think it is brass, but not sure. I see no markings or writing on it at all. Not sure of age; maybe 1950s or 1960s? Only about an inch down.
