... heartbreak! I thought lightning might have struck me twice when I dug this coin box at a former campground this weekend. However, unlike the coin purse I found earlier this year that was full of silver, this box was empty. Still, an interesting design and it looks sort of old. Although the box was empty, I managed to find this nice 1914 Barber dime along the dirt road. Also found a few wheat pennies and an old Yale and Towne lock. Thanks for checking out my post. Happy hunting!

Good stuff! That coin box is a very interesting find!

Yeah, a Coin Box...!
WoW!
The partitions inside, are made for certain denomination/size of coins....!
Cool Finds...! :icon_thumright:

Cool interesting find!!

I like the coin design on top of the box

Wicked find. I couldn’t help but think of Schrödinger’s cat with this post. The box was both full and empty until you opened it and observed it empty. I hope next time you observe it full [emoji1303]

(The above is a geek test [emoji16] We usually find each other)

still a cool box

Nice looking coin box and Barber dime. That coin box had to be a heart stopper.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very cool coin box- like you, I wish it were full!

Thanks. It rang up like a half, and my heart skipped a few beats when I saw it was a coin box. Such a sad feeling when I saw it was empty; still a cool find though, I think.

Thanks! I am hoping to fill it with coins from this site. It will take more work and time than finding it full, but that's ok.

:laughing7: I had to look that one up, but it does seem to fit. Thanks!

Great find! Curious what the coin box is made of and whether it has a Maker's mark, engraving, etc???

Thanks. I think it is brass, but not sure. I see no markings or writing on it at all. Not sure of age; maybe 1950s or 1960s? Only about an inch down.

Wow! That’s a heart stopper for sure! Nice finds and congratulations!
