dug copper ID

I dug this coin early this AM. I found it in the smae location I found this coin. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,455152.0.html . Can anyone tell me what it is and about how old. I don't know much about old coins.

1783 Nova Constellatio - Nice!!

Wow thanks! How do you know its 1783. I can't see a date on it. Do you happen to know what years it was made? Also is it a rare coin to find.. Well it is for me

don't see too many of the Nova Constellatios dug at all.

It appears to be a 1783 Nova Constellatio,Pointed Rays type with large US. Crosby 1-A Scarce variety. If it is not the 1-A than it would be the more common 2-B variety, but fairly certain from the details I see it is a 1-A variety. Congrats on a nice find.

It is not one of the pattern Novas.
