Dug up a caste at the beach

Well, Just got back from the beach metal detecting, Me and my other buddy was trying to find someone's last silver necklace for them but no luck, But I did find something pretty awesome, about foot deep down in the sand, I dug up a jar.. The jar had a 2 dollar bill, 7 dollars and 59 cents in change and a note.. The note had a name, address and a email(I scriddled out the info). I sent a message to the email with photos and waiting for a reply..

My guess is that a person put there all there stuff in there when they went swimming and from forgot about it,
