Dump Find

I'm sure this is an easy one. I found this in a dump that's aged 1870-1920ish. So what the heck do you guys think or know it is? Swiz

If I assume it's glass, I would say it broke off some sort of glass lid.

Then I would agree and say it's a lamp finial. One of those old ribbed ball types.

I couldn't find anything of a finial that size but it sure began to look like a pull chain may have went through it.

or maybe it's part of a curtain rod end

I would guess it is off a lamp or bed frame.

Its only 1 and 1/4" long. Just a tad bigger then a quarter. I think its just a bit small for a lamp cord to go through but I suppose its may be possible. Its cool looking anyways. Maybe I'll use it as the hangie ball thing on my next homebrewed wind chime. Would a short video help a bit? Swiz
