This thing measures 14mm in diameter and says "Superior Quality" on the back. Found buried at an old house site and still lots of gilt left! The eagle is holding an anchor, so, Navy? Any idea as to age and use would be appreciated.

More-specific ID is, US Navy button from 1941 onward to the present day. On this type of US Navy button prior to 1941, the eagle's head was turned in the other direction.
