So called (by Don Dragoo's back in the 1950s. But no pro seems to like anyone else's terminology, so it never became a standard term). Similar examples were found, off the top of my head, at Bull Brook, Shoop, Porrier and East Wenachee. This one's of Dover chert and o. s. l. dates to the Paleo era

In Tom Davis' junk box around 1994.

Charged me 50 cents for it and thought I had a screw loose to pay good money for the kind of stuff a lot of people wouldn't even bring back home.
