early 1800's sleigh bell...

I found a mid 1800's sleigh bell with the number 5 on the top. I did some research and found it do be dated from 1800-1850...I have a ton of pics, but need to figure out how to re-size/post them! Has anyone else found these antique sleigh bells? If so do they have any value to them, because it still ring and is in GREAT shape.

I resize my pictures using the Windows Paint program (assuming you have a windows based computer).

Open the picture and use the "image" then "stretch/skew" option...

Save the new pic as a .JPG and use that to post...

So how did you do out hunting over the weekend? Is this part of the booty? I use MGI photosuite and resize the images so that they fit the posting size limit.

I hit up the mid-1800's house I've been talking about. It was haunted without a doubt. As soon as we get out of the car, the doors started slamming out of no where, with NO WIND blowing. We entered the house, I started getting a huge headache, and my dad fell threw the floor, cutting his hands/arms up pretty bad. Bleeding and all, we kept going. This is one of the nicer houses we've hit, and the man that once lived there is buried 100 feet away with a 15 foot grave. I'm doing the pics now, and will post them up in a minute.

I have found several of them.
every size from one like yours to a large one a little smaller than a softball.Always neat to find them....

Thats really a great house.....The six over six paned windows is typical of the Federal period ....early 1800

The house looks to have been built in the mid 1800s by the carpentry. Possibly a bit older, but sometime since it has had a remodel on the soffits. It looks like a great place to hunt for sure.

Appreciate the replys, I'm going back this week to do some more hunting, but there is SO much trash surrounding the house. I guess I'm going to have to clear it all out to find the goodies.

Its on farmland beside the railroad tracks, my dad found it while passing it on a train. Pretty remote area, very nice spot, a lot of land and, peace and quiet, nothing around it but the tracks. How do u find coins on these kind of sites?!?! Clean all the trash first, or go to certain areas? I zoomed in on the face as well, crazy stuff, maybe I should post up more pics.

yeah, throwin up that deuce deuce dawg...u know how it is, lol. Petal bell? Is that the same as a sleigh bell I guess? Can really determine how much its worth, I've yet to see a #5 bell anywhere.
