Early archaic questions

Have y’all ever found an early archaic point that was thinning on one side? I’ve read that all archaic points such as kirks or Hardin’s are bifacially reduced. I’m working on a thesis and doing a bit of research. If you have example, can you post them?

If you mean points made on flakes thin enough that they are flakes on one side and unifacial (smooth flake surface, or nearly so) on the other, then yes -- such points were occasionally made during all periods.

Not really sure what you're asking, because thinning and reduction are separate processes. Even an occasional Clovis is fluted or thinned only on one side. Or, as Uniface asked, are we talking unifacial as opposed to bifacial points in the Early Archaic period?

Fat fingers on my part -- sorry !! That was supposed to be "flaked" on one side. NOT "flakes."

Not sure on these types the brown one might be E A but not sure maybe Morrow Mountain the black one Im not sure on the type either. Both are thin, not real sure what you are asking for though. Hope it helps, rock

Think this is the closest to what you are looking for? The knives are a bit later I think, the point may be closer with a bifurcated looking base.

The curve on that darker one is crazy ... all really nice points

In North Carolina, Hardaway and Alamance were thinned on one side lots of times.
