early canister shot id chart?

Hi all

I've searched high and low but can't find a chart that can be used to id canister shot of the 1812 era or earlier British and US. Is there such a beast?

I've seen the 1861 american artillery ordance manual recommended a number of times, but I don't think that covers earlier periods.
