Left Clayton this a.m. and came back along that blue highway that runs up to Folsom and on to Raton. Just a favorite route of mine. Got a couple of fair pronghorn pics. These guys are spooked real easy. They are inquisitive, and I have heard if you wrap up in a white sheet and sit down on the prairie they will walk up to check you out. I didn't have time to try that experiment though.

Love those wide open spaces I do. Don't let em catch you in Wyoming hunting pronghorn with a white strip of fabric on a tall stick. That trick will cost ya.

Oh give me the land, lots of land * Under starry skies above....Don't.. fence.. me... in

Those are Great pictures RGINN, I tried to take one of our local group (what are they called heard?) but had to zoom in so it's not very good like yours. My hubby has tried flashing a mirror at them & that does bring them closer to check it out, let us know if you ever do the sheet thing! :)

Nice photographs! Thanks for sharing...

If you set up a blind ck and let them get used to it you could probably get some good pics. The first pic would have been better but he sprung into a run as soon as I clicked the shutter. They're a lot like coyotes in that when they see you, they'll run off just out of rifle range then stop and look back at you.

The blind is a good idea RGINN...but the pronghorn aren't near our place, I took the picture from our car about 15 miles away...so have to get'em from a distance. I like that first picture of yours with him running, it's really good & clear to...good job!

Did you make the drive up Capulin?

We drove right by Capulin on the way up to Folsom. We went and checked it out 3 or 4 years ago but didn't stop in this time. And PB, I got snowed back into Colorado. It came in Sunday and some parts of the county got 2 feet. It took me an hour and a half to cover the last 30 miles gettin home Sunday. That was the worst drive I've ever had up here over Hoosier Pass. Lots of accidents goin on and one fatality. I was gonna head up to Wyoming today but too much snow, so we're goin to Moab. Hope all y'all have a great time at work this week!

I don't work anymore....finally retired! Got a big salt water fishing trip coming up on June 6th. Hope the salmon start biting off Ft Bragg by then. Sorry about your casualty. I heard it was a pretty big storm.
