That's really interesting. I like the engraving workmanship. It's really unique. I'll bet it's over 200 years old.

Its a balance bridge for a balance wheel. Could be of Chinese manufacture. I will elaborate a little more on this bridge. Watches from the mid 1800's, in Liverpool used this style balance cock, but the cat with the long whiskers still makes me think it was made in the oriental market. It would still be old, but maybe not English.

Not an expert but it looks like it's colonial era work. There was somebody on here a few months ago that found a really nice complete colonial pocket watch with incredible inner workings. I think it might even be a banner. Your piece looks like something that came out of a watch of that time period. Congrats on it!

It looks Colonial era to me Oriental just does not make sense with it having American numbers on it..Very cool personal find!One for the display case for sure...

The Chinese made them for the American market. Do a search for Liverpool watches in the mid 1800's and you will see that exact style balance bridge. I'm talking from almost 40 years of watch repair and have seen many like them. https://mb.nawcc.org/threads/balance-cock-styles-and-dating.152515/
