Early US Script I eagle and possible 9K signet ring

Dug an early convex 1 piece script I eagle button Saturday. Can't make out back mark. Thinking 1812 or a little post war. Can anyone confirm age. Also dug a nice gold signet ring with 2 sets of initials inside the band. Possibly 9K. Will take to have tested tomorrow.

Im thinking your button is post Revolutionary War, I have a silver washed one that was found on a site that I recovered a 1st regiment button from.

Not really sure. Sold my books years ago. Seems like we started seeing more convex buttons post-1812, but not all early buttons were flat.

I think you are correct. The initials engraved inside the band appear to read JOD MCD
