Since Carbon dating the stones can't tell you anything, I hear there is one spot where the stones encircle a Bowl on top of a hill, obviously it was a coral of some kind, Why not just do a dig in the coral and find out what animals where kept there? If it was horses or livestock or both. A carbon dating of the Livestock bones should provide the answer.

Amazing stuff huh? Quite a mystery. I've done a few hikes to visit these walls where accessible. Amazing stuff. To think how much time and man power went into building these is pretty mind boggling. I read somewhere that Chinese Admiral Zhang, one possible suspect in the walls construction, was travelling with a fleet of 40k men.

There are hundreds of miles of rock fences in Northern California.
I have read that Portuguese immigrants built the walls in their slack time when they could not make money mining.
Just a low paying job to barely get by.

Some people suspect something much more sinister...ancient aliens.
