East Coast Sanded in.......

I went to Daytona Beach Saturday afternoon for a hunt, I was looking forward to it and it was my first hunt since my mom passed away.

Although it was nice to get out again, the surf was rough, with 4 to 5 foot breakers and the winds were 15-20 mph. The weather conditions wasn't the problem, it was the the bleak finds that sure put a damper on the excitement.

I found a total of 1 dime, 1 nickel, and 5 pennies, all clad. I did not find a single pulltab, bottle cap, can slaw, or fishing weights.....

We need a storm or Nor'eastern, the beach is sanded in bad...........

Sorry to hear about your Mom passing away.

It is always nice to get out even when the targets are few and far apart, but not so nice if a wave knocks you wrong side up. I am stuck inland now and enjoy the memories of sea gulls dive bombing my sandwich while trying to watch the eye candy.

My Grandmother just passed away this past Thursday. Looks like there's plenty of grief going around.

I'm sorry to have just learned about your Mom's passing.
Odd; I logged on to the site because today, I enjoyed my first hunt since my Dad died. I've been a bit out of touch over the last 6 months and it's time to get back "in the swing" of things...
Sorry also to hear that Daytona is sanded in. If YOU aren't finding the loot there - it just isn't available!

I came on here to lurk......has been a long while since logging in.....but when I saw your post I had to log in and reply. I too plan on making that first hunt. Its been almost a year now but I need to get out and enjoy what I have missed so dearly. I've lost several family members in the last year, my stepdad March 1st, grandmother a week later and my wife left and took the kids the next week. Its been rough but I feel now that doing some scratching in the dirt will do me good.

Not wanting a pity party and by no means am I wanting to hi-jack your post but just wanted to say that your post stirred me to get back on the horse.

Condolences again and its good to be back....I've missed you guys.

sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my mom and dad a few month apart I miss them but know that they are watching over me. like your mom will be watching over you I will say a prayer for her
