Eldorado vs. Vaquero

HighPlainsHunter,

O.K., I'll give you my "two cents". The Eldorado is an O.K. detector but in my opinion it's not a classic. By that I mean it does not really have any outstanding qualities that do or will make it a preferred machine now or in the future. I see that you are wanting to compare both the Vaquero and the Tejon to the Eldorado. Tesoro has two "families " in their detector line up. The uMax models and the "Hot technology" machines. for the kind of hunting you say you are doing I think the HT machines would work for you. Probably your best bet would be the Tejon. It's a super relic machine and crosses over nicely to a coin hunter. I'm a Tesoro dealer so if you need any help with your purchase let me know. If you have any other questions I would be glad to help.

Listen to Joe  The HT detectors are super relic finders and they have a lot of accessory coils for all types of hunting.

Joe, how does the Vaquero stack up in that mix?

dogcaught & HighPlainsHunter,

O.K., I got a little off track with what the original question was. No, I would not suggest an upgrade from the Eldorado to the Vaquero. The Vaquero will have a slight edge in depth in some situations but the two detectors are so similar in features that I don't think I would suggest an upgrade unless you are in love with the Eldorado and want a backup detector that is similar to it. The only upgrade in the Tesoro line that would make sense is the Tejon. Joe
