That rosewood is gorgeous.

Found this cobbler hammer that was all rusted up and junked up...electrolysis and then made a handle for it out of Brazilian Rosewood. One of my favorites so far. Lots of time and effort went into this but I think the results were definitely worth it. Original photos pre electrolysis can be found in my albums.
Thank you! My future father in law (currently engaged) does a lot of woodworking and had some left over from a project he did. We only needed a sliver so it worked out perfectly.

Nice work on the handle, and the business-end came out of the electrolysis pretty sharp too.

Thank you. I was surprised as I'd done electrolysis before but hadn't had a lot of experience with it. When I first found the hammer I figured it was so far gone I would just use it to practice on and I was very wrong lol

I just found one at a virgin Confederate cavalry camp I just located and thinking about doing that same thing. Love the coloring of the wood.

Way cool!!!! I'm lucky to carve a toothpick!!!

Very cool find and work restoring the metal. Very beautiful handle, great job, I would be very proud of that baby!

FINE JOB MY FREIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everybody! Never expected it to come out nearly as nice as it did. I'll have to do an axe head next!

Thanks guys, lotta blood and sweat went into that thing. Well..really just sweat but first time using some serious power tools so I'm surprised I still have 10 fingers.

Looking VERY! Good.

Great job.I have a imported caste steel hatchet from the civil war with maker marks. After its bath it was still razor sharp. I need to haft it as well. Nice job on yours.
