Had a good few hours this am. Still a few snow showers but the ground is wet. Found this donkey bank along with this large cufflink. I was hoping its recognizable to someone. I saw a similar bank on ebay. I wish it had old coins in it. I hope I shook it hard enough. I gave it to the owner. Last week I hit a nice pocket of bottles. Cobalt Wyeth poison, but it has a crack. I love the old liquor bottles. The amber syringe is a nice find for me! The one with the straight neck is interesting the cork is like new for such an old bottle. Its an old Brookfield New York insulator. My friend brought the Victor 367 BPOE "on top of the world" souvenir over to trade with me today. I love it!!! He found it in a box of junk! Good friend! Happy Hunting!

Those are great finds I also found some bottles I need to post Great JOB!!!!!

So, let me ask. Is there a possibility you are in the top of an old privy? If you don't have a 5' probe, dig straight down where you found these artifacts and see what comes up

PLEASE.... stop showing your A$$ :tongue3: just kidding, congrats nice finds.

I had found a piece of copper going straight into a outhouse pit with the detector. I could tell it was before digging it. It was about 5 feet deep with lots and lots and lots of seeds!!!! I always think I leave things behind, but I hit bottom. There was a huge rock in it which I should have gone behind. Im happy with the bottles insainly happy my back is ok. Hopefully there are a few more pits close by.

It looks like that donkeys back broken legs are bleeding in that second picture lol Nice finds though :icon_thumright:

Cool donkey, is there a chance there is a concretion of old coins inside?

I hope there is, I rinsed it out, it was filled with dirt. It still looked usable but empty. I left it on his porch. I'll make sure he looks at it close. With the fire here in 1899 you never know. The bank could be newer. Thanks!

I love that cast iron donkey. Looks like an old AC Williams bank 1920's...good find!

Very cool! Is that an old door knob? We don't find too many anymore...! :occasion14:

I thought it was a door bell shell, but after your comment It definitly looks like the piece the doorknob slides into. Thanks! I find lots of the ceramic porcelain black and white door knobs. Not to many brass ones:)
