After a hard days work saturday (see scrap metals forum) my son and I headed out for some extra curicular in our favorite flannels . We drove around a bit looking for a new field to hunt, walked a couple to no luck, not even a flake, so we headed to one of my dig spots. We dug hard finding flint steady and the occasional broke, got a pc of hematite, by the looks of it would have been one of those narrow celts or? I stood up to call it the day and he kept digging until I had everything gathered, as soon as I said the final cmon he dug one out. Tried to hide it to surprise me later, but I saw him dig it. Nothing much to look at but we were satisfied with the day.

I think any time we spend in the outdoors with our kids is a good day. The ones that are successfull are even better!

i wish my g.grandfather was still alive so i could have been with him when he used to artifact hunt. looks like your boy has a good idea of what to look for. keep him interested and maybe someday he'll be diggin with his kids. congrats on your finds and thanks for the pics.
