I found these this weekend. Paid $100 for the pair. They are supper heavy. Not sure what they are worth. The shades are kinda beat up but they will be looking for a new home. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks French theme, maybe pewter?

Nice lamps, they are statues of Don Juan and Don Caesar.

I found the same as statues. The are bronze and date back to the 1890-1898. Not so much as lamps though.

I have never heard of Don Caesar. The statues make him look rather effeminate though.

probably more pot metal than pewter their is a name for it but cannot remember at the moment, cool stuff none the less

Spelter or white metal. I'm wondering if they started out as statuettes and then got turned into lamps, or if they were made as statuettes and lamps also. Hmm? I'm thinking they were turned into lamps after the fact. I mean this guy sold for $750 by himself. Large French Spelter Statue of Cavalier Don Juan | Antique Helper

By the way Isabella1, don't be discouraged by my "shoot from the hip" first reply. I'm sure you can at least double your money on these. After a little more research, i've found several examples that have sold for much more than the first sold link that I provided, it was 3 years old. Here is a newer listing where a pair like yours just sold for over $200- 2 Antique Victorian Figural Don Juan Cesar Old Bronzed Mantle Statue Lamp | eBay

They're French renaissance styled, of course they look fem. :laughing7:

By the way they are called "The Cavaliers"
