Etrac coil cracked

Hey guys. Had my etrac for a couple of years now. Still using the stock coil that came with it from new. Noticed a big chip in the coil...the plastic rim on the upper and outer edge of the coil. Is that just a protective cover or is it the actual coil?

The coil is wound with wire epoxied inside the plastic casing. If it's not exposed and still working as it should just seal it up with some 2 part epoxy and wish it well.

Clean it with a damp cloth, rough it up with some sand paper and epoxy it.

Epoxy it then spray it with truck bed liner or spray on plasta-dip
