Saturday I stopped at a store and found a diamond earing stud laying on the asphalt near my car. I just placed it in my pocket to look at later. After coming out of the store I took all the change and the stud out of my pocket to look at the stud better and I dropped it. So here I am on hands and knees looking for the diamond stud to see if it was 13 Kt. or what and after about twenty minutes I gave up and drove home. Once there I took the change out of my pocket and set it on the counter and dang if the stud wasn't there too. I swear I saw it drop.......

Anyway it was 14 Kt. and the stone was small but looked good and I will have it tested. But I'll never start wearing earing's.........

Yea, cool you found it again. I found some live bullets once and I lost one again and I was real worried about it getting sucked up into a lawnmower. I searched and searched with my detector and never found it.

Keep @ it and HH!!

Aw Sandman..............you'd look good with an earing or two! Maybe you could pierce a place where no one will see, perhaps your bellybutton? lol Goes to show, always keep your eyes on the ground, you never know what you will find! ;D

yep my first and only franklin half, carried it around for three days then it disappeared right before I was to put it away...oh well will make a nice find for someone else someday...

I was going to say if it was 13K, you wouldn't want it anyway. Good you found it again. I found and lost the first silver WW II nickel I found after starting detecting again. Problem is. I think I handed it over the counter while buying something later. Taught me to keep my finds in another pocket besides my change pocket. HH

I once found a huge nugget ring and I gave it to my son when he came home from Desert Storm. That year he wore it when he went deer hunting in nothern Michigan. He left it sitting on a stump when he warmed his hands and when he told me about it, all he said was, "Easy come, Easy go." Whata gonna do?........

13 Kt. was a typo...

Where did you say the exact spot was where he was hunting??? ;)

I found an 18 kt gold ear ring while detecting under water, (snorkling), one day I decided to sell it, I put it in my pocket, never did find it...
lost it somehow... :'(

Gypsy don't go there at deer season. I don't believe the hunters yell FORE!!! Like I have to, all too often, playing golf. ;D HH

Nice find, let us know after you have it tested if it is real.

Oh yes. On a hot August day I announced to my friends in cool dark tavern that I was going out to the fairgrounds and dig up some treasure. The usual teasing, and I headed out. The first signal and up came a "Shield nickel" I washed it off, tucked it in my watch pocket and smiled all the way back to the tavern. "Gather around I've got something to show you! The coin was gone along with my creditability and I've never found another one. >:(

ha ha - that's a great question.

I found an unfired, dropped musketball right at (where I interpreted) the front door of this Spanish Colonial fort site once stood....

I lost it a year later. (that was in 1995) One of my worst losses ever!

I found it, I really found it! (and lost it too :()

A friend of mine went to England for a week to do some serious detecting. He put his best coin find in his pocket so it wouldn't get lost on the return trip home. (I don't recall what the coin was, but it was a nice one). When the plane arrived he had to sit in the terminal and wait for his luggage to come off the plane.
After he got home and was getting ready to go to bed, he realized his coin was missing. After unsuccessfully looking for it in the house, he drove back to the airport, and there was the coin...right where he was sitting several hours earlier. :o

I found a nice little heart locket last month. Wrapped it up all nice and neat in a paper towel to keep it safe so I could show the land owner what I had found. Lost it. Can't find it anywhere. :'( Only pictures left. :'(

:P

Glad you re-found yours though! :)
