Found this on the bank of the Alabama River. :'( Twenty years later I am still looking for the other half.

Yep I have close to 200 brokes from 1 site & have only matched 14. I think they hafted the tips to broken blades as I have a tip and base that matched & the tip has been worked after it was broken.I agree killer material & tip you found

this a topic that i think about often. not only the missing parts to the ones i have found but reading papers on archaeological sites where they dig everything and fit pieces together but miss that "one that got away"!

Tell me about it RPG. Here's the one I keep going back for (to no avail). I guess that's just part of it.

RPG,

Just about every hunt I go on here has me wishing I could find the other half!! So many brokes to so few complete. Just part of the game I suppose.I have found that I return to a certain spot just hoping to find the other half and instead find a nice complete point. Placaes that I probably would'nt have went back to if I was'nt searching for the other piece.

Twig.

I agree i find far more brokes than hole.95% collection are brokes.heres a few id like to match up.

hi everyone.i am new to this forum,i am a member of the aaca, and i post often on arrowheads forum.really like the site.thought i would share my most wanted other half.i am refering to the roller pestle in this pic.the half i have is just under 12 inches long, with a diameter of 3 inches.i found it last summer, and i know it was broken by the plow,it has some plow marks on it.it is very well polished dark hardstone.i hope the other half turns up in the field this year.
