What's new

Every time I think I like my AT Pro

Pro mode is about two inches deeper than standard mode with my AT in air tests...with sens on six bars you should get 9 inches on a clad dime and 10 inches on a clad quarter in air test...at least I do with mine...the ground your hunting has a lot to do with how the detector performs but an air test should let you know if your AT is working right.

In my favorite relic place targets routinely come in at 8" for a 150 yr old minnie ball.. Across town that same bullet will be no deeper than 6". And yet another site in town the same kinda target came in at 12+ ".. all the same time frame but the soil was different and water run off was different. Even picked up a carved Lead Ball from canister shot at 2" on a 4th site. dirt composition and water runoff have a lot to do with target depth imho.

The bell tone gives the same target signal reguardless of depth it is buried.....Pro Mode the deeper targets sound off softer 'cause they're deeper (further away from the coil). That is the difference in the pro mode.
There is a trade off using the 5x8 vs the stock coil for depth, but I trade seperation over depth any day JMHO
