Detector(s) used
Garrett GTI 2000, Garrett Ace 400, Garrett AT Max and Minelab Xterra Pro. Two Garrett Carrots
It turns out my new Garrett AT Max which has been grunting almost non stop has the Iron Audio wired backwards. I never tried the Iron Audio before because it had enough iron grunt sounds all the time without it. I finally turned it on and it quieted down quite a bit. It's working better now but I think it still has too much iron sounds. The Iron Disc is working correctly now as well. I should have figured this out weeks ago.

If it didn't have so much interference at every yard I try to detect maybe it could be a worthwhile machine. Sadly 95% of my detecting is yards of old houses and I end up having to use my Minelab instead. So at this point the AT Max is still mostly useless. My Garrett GTI 2000 has 7.0 kHz frequency and has no interference at all. My Ace 400 has 10.0 kHz frequency and has crap loads of interference, just like the AT Max. It makes you wonder if the higher frequencies are causing some (or a lot) of the interference problem. No, surely not.

I suppose I should send it in to Garrett to be wired correctly as it will be easier to sell with all the buttons labeled and working correctly. who else out there is having major interference with their AT Max or Garrett metal detector period? I had to replace the MS 3 Wireless headphones because only one side worked. And as for the MS 2 headphones they sound like both speakers are blown out.

I'm not trying to dis Garrett, I've been buying their detectors since the early eighties but they are definitely slipping. The Z lynk carrott seems like the only thing I re purchased recently that I'm actually happy with.
