Everything's big in Texas, including halitosis

Or so I've heard. Among the finds in my cousin's privy #4 was this monster clay marble, just the second of its size I've found. It's about the size of a large gumball, while most marbles are what you'd expect. No, it's not a Texas find, but given their reputation, this is probably what Texas marbles looked like . Other finds of interest today are a pair of lovely blues: a Milk of Magnesia and an octagonal Noxzema. Most interesting was a corked Listerine bottle, with vintage Listerine still inside! It was upside down, and the cork did yeoman's work for a long time to hold its cargo in. This particular privy appears to have been larger than the other three surrounding it; I still have more digging to do before I can begin the refill.

Crazy to think that the guy who threw those bottles down the privy all those years ago thought they were worth just that! And now here you are digging all day just to find them, lol. Good recoveries!

Well, not all day; the heat runs me out before noon! Can't wait for some cooler days!

I'll say this: the Listerine still smelled good! None of that mint stuff we have now, just the good old recipe, whatever it was.

Nice finds. Brings back some memories. :laughing7:

The marble looks about the right size for an "aggy". We use to use an aggy to break marbles out of the circle. Kind of like breaking the rack-up when shooting pool. I haven't seen one of those in so long I had forgot all about them. :laughing7:

Keep on diggen and HH
